The Emerging Writers’ Festival is an independent arts organisation based in Melbourne’s Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas.
Their objective each year is to promote the interests of emerging writers and improve their opportunities for professional development as well as their engagement with the broader public.
Each year it is their mission to offer professional development, networking and new audience engagement opportunities to writers at all stages of their career, to broaden their skills and experience.
The festival has a big, diverse and entertaining program taking place in various locations across Melbourne, including an online portal, featuring thirty-odd events on their website and Twitter.
There are also writer’s workshops, giving you the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and gain the skills you need to be a successful writer in whichever genre you choose. From the craft of writing, industry insider information and a ‘Business of Being a Writer Masterclass’, to tutorials on new writing forms, there’s sure to be a workshop in their toolkit to help build your writing career.
The festival celebrates writing in all its forms. Whether you’re a journalist, blogger, song writer, poet, novelist, comedian, publisher, playwright or essayist, this is the place for you!
Do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity to rub shoulders with industry insiders, gain more knowledge, and challenge yourself.
The festival runs from May 26 to June 5 2011. Please visit the website for more details.
