When Jane McInerney was approached to judge for the Ms Gay and Ms Transsexual 2010 pageant, she saw an opportunity to make the most of her role and make a documentary for Literature Media Project.

“This film is about drag pageants in Melbourne today. I was selected to be a judge for a Ms. Gay and Ms. Transsexual 2010 pageant in St Kilda. But what does it mean to be a drag queen? When transvestite or cross dressers are in full theatrical drag, step over our western and often artificially maintained boundaries between male and female categories. Today, in year 2010 I want you to see with me what drag queens who enter drag pageants in Melbourne are all about.”
